Buffman & Squeaky

It was 48 degrees outside when we arrived at 7 am.  Ben stretching to warm up.

Cleat inspection

Photo Ops are not his thing.

   Around start time the temperature eked up to the low 50s, yet the water
 temperature hovered at 64 degrees.

Not surprisingly, Ben was one of the only ones
 without a wetsuit.

Ben, with hands on head, is centered between their legs.

And they're off.  Now swim a mile.

With some insane hills and wind, Ben clocked an average of 25.7 miles per hour
for his 40k bike.  Muy impressive.

After turbo pedaling for nearly an hour, he still had his 10k to run.

Ben's first olympic length triathlon wrapped up with his incredible run,
averaging 7:21 per mile.
His run rank was 8th out of 38.

Overall, Ben ranked 3rd in his age bracket.

My Captain Caveman

 Ben had fire under his feet and ran his fastest pace yet.  According to Fritz, it was like he was dancing on hot coals.

Jane added that, "Happiness is a fast bicycle."

Captain Caveman wished he had invented the wheel and enjoyed such delights as Texas triathlons.

In a crowd I can still find my special someone.  As he swam, my heart attached to his was soaking wet.

In caveman humor, rocks were handed out as trophies.

Algebra for a Triathlete

What is T = 1h + 29m?

Super speed swim of 4:41 for 250 yard swim

16.5 miles of uphill in the wind biking

 And then a 5K run in 24:02

T = 1 h + 29 m
h = Amazing
m = Master of the Triathlon

TRI-ed and True

Ben's second triathlon was uber impressive.  He pedaled his vintage bike to its limit and averaged 19.9 mph for 12 miles.  He finished in 1 hour 14 minutes and placed 13th of the 50 males in his age bracket.
